My Little Boy

I cant believe you are 2 years old! You are a joy in my life.

I love playing with you. One game I especially love right now is when you pretend you are daddy and you say to me " See you in a while, going to school to study".  Then you leave the room and come right back again  and say "I am home", and you give me a hug and a kiss. :)   I also love when you sing the Menards song. " You save big money, you save big money, when you shop MENARDS!!!!"   I think it is hilarious that you always want to go to Costco.  I love your toothy smile.  I love your round belly.  I love your hands how they are curious to touch everything.  I love that you are finally starting to somewhat snuggle with me when we read books!

Sick

I have had an enormous battle being sick this past month.  It all started with the flu. I was throwing up, diarrhea, chills, aches, fever, etc... it lasted a little over a week . Luckily, whenever I get sick,  it  starts close to the weekend.  Jake was an amazing help with Sawyer and also taking care of me.  He would be an amazing nurse. :)  When Monday hit Jake had to go back to school and I thought I was going to die trying to take care of Sawyer and myself.  Luckily Jake's school got out early (noon) on Monday and Tuesday.  It was a blessing for me.  On Wednesday I was forced to go to the Dr by Jake.  I went and found out that I had a UTI.  So I got some antibiotics for that.  While I was taking the antibiotics I never felt good. I assumed it was still the flu, but it wasn't.   After I had finished the last pill of antibiotics I woke up the next morning with a rash down my spin. The rash then started creeping all over my body. The rash turned into large red liquid filled bumps all over my body! My limbs were swollen and I felt like I had bruises all over my body. I looked like I had the plague. 

I went back to the Dr. and had to get two thick steroid shots on my bum cheeks. Sawyer witness me receiving the shots and still remembers it to this day. Just day he softly pats my bum and said " shots, let me see, kiss it."

My Dr said I was allergic to the meds. So I had to take another set of pills to help get rid of the reaction. When I started taking them my rash turn into bruises, which made me look even more scary.  I didn't go anywhere for a while.  One of the side affect of taking the pills for me was I was very antsy. I got so many projects done! I stayed up till 2-3 in the morning and woke up at 5am it was crazy. 

  I remember looking back awhile ago and thinking how great life was and then saying to myself, "oh no, what trial is coming." :)  Being sick for the past month was hard for me and for my family. It affected all of us. I grateful for having a healthy body most of the time.

Halloween

We had a Halloween party where all of us were Russian Spys

For Halloween Sawyer was a Sailor man. He wouldn''t wear his hat, so no one really knew what he was, but they all thought he was adorable.

When we went Trick or Treating, Sawyer was a little unsure about the whole idea. He would push Jake towards the doors and say" You do it Jake, you do it."  Finally he got the hang of it and started grabing the candy.  When we went home Sawyer examined  all the candy by taking a bit of it and spiting it out.  He only liked the suckers.

Jake and I ate some candy and decided it wasn't that great either. :) What is wrong with us?

Summer to Fall

Why is it that summer seems to fly by so fast while winter comes and stays for a long time.  Fall is coming the leaves in Omaha are starting to fall, the air is crisper and the days are getting shorter. I love fall time! There are lots of fun family things to do this time of year. But I get a sick feeling in my stomach, becasue I know that winter is coming fast and that means Sawyer and I wont beable to spend most of our day outside any more.  I hope fall weather last till Dec 1st, then the snow can come, but only for the month of december. :)

Here are some fun memories from this summer.

About a week ago, we had a get together with our RDEP friends at the splash park. We had food, games, and water. It was a lot of fun watching Sawyer run through the water. When we came home; some of the ranch dressing that we had in our cooler spilled out of its container and was everywhere inside of the cooler. Since it was Sunday when I noticed it, I didn't really want to clean it out, so I put it outside on our front porch. BAD IDEA. I forgot about it until last night. Almost two weeks. You can imagine the humidity and the heat cooking that ranch dressing that I left inside the cooler. AHHHH! When I opened the cooler last night, a fume of warm heat was released out of the cooler, caring a rotten, putrid, gagging smell. I gagged the whole night while I cleaned it.


The moral of the story, clean up after you are done making a mess.

fireflies

All my life I have wanted to see fireflies.  I remember two summers ago, I was so excited to go to see Heather my sister in up state New York because they have fireflies up there. But for some reason they weren't there when I visited.   Now that we have moved to Omaha I have seen them every night.  They are very magical and enchanting.

One evening after I had put Sawyer down for the night, Jake and I when outside to throw a football around.  I remember missing one of Jake's throws and having to walk aways to retrieve it.  As I was bending down to get the football, I saw a flash of light, almost like a spark 12 feet in front of me.   I froze and realized I had just seen a fireflies!   I started to yell and scream the words to Jake " I JUST SAW A FIREFLY!  I was so happy and excited! The rest of the evening we watched and waited to see if we could see anymore, but we didn't. Now however, I seen them every night. They are very magical and enchanting bug.
